How do you support parents of children with SEND?

The SENCO Mrs Sharman holds coffee afternoons once a term where parents can come and meet other parents. The purpose is to realise you are not alone, other parents probably have the same worries and concerns as you. It also is a forum for you as parents to share your views on what our school does to provide the best provision for your child, an opportunity to hear from agencies that may support your child as well as you making sure you are supported too, e.g one afternoon two members of the SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service) came to share what they do.

As well as concerns and worries, you can share the strengths and successes of your child too which can often be overlooked but is just as important in ensuring your child achieves their God-given potential.

Mrs Sharman uses the school twitter account to share information from organisations as well as highlight good practice and media awareness.
