My Happy Mind
We are thrilled to announce that under the leadership of Miss Mckenna and the support of all staff and children, St Mary & St Benedict Catholic Primary School has been awarded the Bronze Accreditation!
Well Done Team!

Every class in St Mary and St Benedict Catholic Primary School has started the My Happy Mind programme this academic year.
Over the next few weeks we will be adding details about the programme and how it is helping the children to understand their feelings and reactions to a variety of situations. We have also added a photo gallery of the children participating and celebrating their learning.
The Programme
myHappymind is taught across five modules and each introduces a new set of content and habits to help children build resilience, self-esteem and confidence:

How the Programme works:
Five Key Modules
Meet Your Brain – Understanding how our brains think and feel.
Celebrate – Recognising achievements and strengths.
Appreciate – Practising gratitude and noticing kindness.
Relate – Building friendships and positive relationships.
Engage – Facing challenges and developing resilience.
Typical activities to engage the children in their learning and developmental knowledge include:
Circle time games, storytelling, creative projects, role-play, cooperative challenges, team-building exercises, reflection journals, and mindfulness exercises.
Happy Breathing
Children learn breathing techniques to support self-regulation, emotional control, and focus, helping them feel calm and confident.
Certificates
Each child receives a certificate upon completing a module, celebrating their progress, their understanding and their personal achievements.
Nursery
Children begin to explore feelings, thoughts, and how their brains help them learn and play. They will celebrate what makes them special, notice kind actions around them, and learn to make friends, share, and try new activities with confidence.
Reception
Children build self-confidence and learn to manage their emotions. They celebrate achievements, show gratitude, strengthen friendships, and develop resilience when trying new challenges.
Years 1 & 2
Children explore how their brain helps them think, learn, and manage feelings. They recognise their strengths, show gratitude, work collaboratively, and develop resilience when facing challenges.
Years 3 & 4
Children focus on understanding emotions, relationships, and positive thinking. They value their own and others’ abilities, practise gratitude, build strong friendships, and approach new challenges with confidence.
Years 5 & 6
Children consolidate skills in emotional wellbeing, resilience, and relationships, preparing for secondary school. They develop empathy, recognise strengths in themselves and others, practise gratitude, regulate emotions, and confidently tackle challenges.
