2026 is the Year of Reading!

We are promoting opportunities to read at home and at school this year....

Every week, we will say "Well Done!" to a child in each class to celebrate their reading achievement during the week.

On Thursday 8th January, we celebrated reading by sharing this brilliant book whilst enjoying a delicious hot chocolate!

Some more of our wonderful readers came to share the brilliant story Too Much Stuff by Emily Gravett on Thursday 22nd January....well done indeed!

And to end January 2026, we shared another Reading Celebration sharing Somebody Swallowed Stanley!

It was a delight to share your dedication to and enjoyment of reading stories.... 

We love sharing the images just as much as hearing the story....we get to use our imagination and ask questions...

This week we shared another Emily Gravett book called 'Tidy'. Old and young, the children loved the story and pictures, and it promoted some wonderful oracy too! (5th February 2026)

26th February This week we shared 'Small's Big Dream' by Manjeet Mann. We shared our dreams and how we might follow them!
